KEEP YOUR GARAGE CLUTTER FREE!

Securely storing your RV or boat at Big Item Storage is easy to do. However, our storage units are great for so many other uses as well. If your garage and driveway are packed, let us help you tame that clutter!

Working on an old vehicle? Many deed restrictions don’t allow for inoperable or non-street-legal cars. Instead of worrying about the homeowners’ association, why not store the car with us? Our drive-up units let you easily load the car into the unit.

Keeping your garage clean is another benefit of large-item storage. Get the boxes and extra furniture and appliances out. Store water vehicles like jet skis and kayaks in your unit. You can even store camping equipment or equipment used in hobbies such as wood- or metal-working. You’ll enjoy being able to park your car in your garage for once!

Whether you’re storing your boat, RV, or other large items, Big Item Storage can accommodate your needs. Both our Rockport and Corpus Christi locations are clean and secure. PACKING UP YOUR FISHING GEAR

Fishing is a year-round sport in the Coastal Bend, but not all anglers can fish year-round. No matter how active you are, there are times of year you’ll have to store your fishing gear. If you’re already storing your boat at Big Item Storage, your unit is a great way to save space at home when the equipment isn’t in regular use. Here are a few tips to help you protect your equipment until the next fishing trip.

A step many forget is properly caring for the reels. You’ll want to disassemble them to clean and lubricate them, as well as replacing any old parts. Make sure to also clean the handles and hardware before reassembling everything.

Your rods require the same level of care. Make sure to check the guides and replace any that are worn or grooved. Loose or exposed wraps should also be repaired. You’ll want to store your rods vertically. This will keep them from bending. Keep an eye on the temperature in summer, however. High heat can affect graphite and fiberglass.

Inspect your waders for leaks and wear. You can use a flashlight inside them to locate even the tiniest holes. Make sure to patch them with waterproof adhesive. Lures, hooks, tools, and tackle should all be inspected as well. Replace or clean these items and dry them well before storing. You’ll also want to sharpen dull hooks, tools, and filet knives.

A little preparation goes a long way to keeping your equipment functioning for years to come.
